The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) acts as the service institute providing general education instruction to students of the six (6) mandated courses of the College namely: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Technology in Horticulture Management, Bachelor of Science in AgroForestry, Diploma in Agriculture leading to Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (DAT-BAT), Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering (BSEnE) and Bachelor of Food Technology (BFT).
Also, the College offers and supervises the Senior High School with its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Technical- Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) Agri-fisheries Strands Offerings. The institute is home to the varied culture and arts activities of USTsP Claveria Campus.
A total of eighteen which composed of eleven (11) regular and five (5) contractual faculty members cater to the different fields of specialization, namely: Languages, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Social Sciences, Physical Education and Humanities. All regular faculty are full-pledged master’s degree holders in their respective fields of specializations; three (3) are full-pledged PhD’s; two (2) faculty are currently enrolled for their doctoral degrees; while, contractual faculty are pursuing their master’s degree. The philosophy of continuous education has been a way of life in the College as evidenced by the never-ending yearning and quest for knowledge by its faculty, be it through pursuing advance studies, attendance to seminars and trainings or the conduct of research and other academic endeavors.
The College maintains the operation of two major facilities for instruction, namely: the three Science Laboratories (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) and the Job Enabling English Proficiency (JEEP) Laboratories both JEEP Start and JEEP Accelerate; and the Socio- Cultural facilities with its collection of different dance costumes as well as the mini-museum.
The Science laboratories are manned by Prof. Dennis A. Mugot, as faculty in-charge. He is assisted by the Laboratory Technician, Mr. Cyril Ll. Cruz. These laboratory facilities are used by general education students taking Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Some graduating students who are on their thesis or project studies avail of the use of laboratory facilities for the conduct of their studies.
Soon, these Science laboratories will be transferred to the Agri-Environmental Science Building which is fully furnished with state –of-the-art facilities.
